Krajete GmbH is a privately owned, young, independent and dynamic start-up company active in the field of industrial biotechnology with gaseous substrates. Krajete GmbH aims at the de-carbonization of road transportation via emission free methane, which can be produced via CO2 and H2 employing the patented and registered Krajete process. The new business line recently opened at the company regards fermentation optimizations for third parties, either for gaseous carbon sources or also for conventional carbon sources (sugars, oils).

Team role and expertise in the project:

KRJ will lead the Metabolic engineering and reactor developments for microbial factory 3: acetone production via engineered Acetobacterium woodii and provide its input and advises also in other WPs.
The leader role in WP6 will exploit KRJ knowledge for both anaerobic and high pressure fermentation with gaseous substrates. Knowledge and technology transfer among partners will assure to reach the outlined targets in the most effective way.

The models previously developed at the KRJ GmbH coupled to a deep analysis of metabolic performances during different phases of the fermentation will allow to quickly understand the strategy to adopt in order to optimize the productivity of the desired target molecule (acetone).
